Back in March, 8-year-old Mari Copeny wrote a letter to President Obama asking for help in remedying the Flint Water Crisis. Flint residents spent two years drinking and bathing in water contaminated with high levels of lead, and Mari protested to raise awareness about the plight of her fellow residents. The President wrote back to her and promised to visit.

Watch her read her letter here.

President Obama flew to Flint on May 4 to meet with Mari, political leaders and other residents. Their meeting was a moment that reminds us why we love the president.
