During the finals at the 2015 College Unions Poetry Slam Invitational poet, Zenaida Peterson delivered a dynamic poem exposing how white privilege often blinds those who come into black communities attempting to 'help' our children. She tells her audience of her frustrations in dealing with her white boss 'Kelly' who doesn't understand the many way in which black children handle race. This poem displays the importance of cultural competency and why good intentions are not enough.
