Grammy nominated R&B artist Kelly Price says a 24-hour CVS pharmacist refused to fill a prescription for painkillers in the middle of the night because of the neighborhood the store is located in. Price lives in Carson, California and believes the pharmacist denied her the medication, needed for an upcoming dental surgery, because he feels the area is unsafe.
Price sees what happened as “an attack on the community” and has shared her experience in an effort to prevent it from happening to other customers. CVS corporate has apologized to Price via phone call and issued a statement reading, in part: “It is not the store’s or the company’s policy to decline to fill certain prescriptions after midnight.”
