Supermodel Beverly Johnson made news in December 2014 with her Vanity Fair essay revelation that Bill Cosby had drugged her in 1986. On Monday, the Associated Press released 2005 deposition documents in which Cosby admitted he had obtained drugs in order to give them to women he intended to rape.
Johnson appeared on NBC's TODAY to talk about the newly released admission and the fallout. She says, “Frankly, I wasn’t surprised at all. I knew that after 49 women have come forward and told their story – a story that was similar to mine – that eventually it was going to come to light."
She also stressed that this was not about, nor did it provide, any vindication. "For me, it’s about women using their voice. We are expected as women to be voiceless, and it was an opportunity for me to use my voice.”
