Viola Davis And Taraji P. Henson Talk Overcoming their Fears to Lead Hit TV Shows

"I want the work to reflect my level of gifts and talent. I don't want it to reflect my color or my sex or my age. That's what I want," says Viola Davis in a Roundtable Interview from the Hollywood Reporter. In the full Roundtable, she and other actresses including Taraji P. Henson discuss their iconic roles and their craft.

"If we do it well, if we handle it well, then it's going to force people to have conversations that they are afraid to have, and that's what art is supposed to do," Henson says of her role as Cookie in Empire, which she said initially "scared the hell out of her." The actress also jokes, "I hate that bitch Cookie. She has stolen my identity."
