New Gatorade Commercial Features Iconic Career of the 'Unmatched' Serena Williams

A new commercial from Gatorade features legendary tennis player Serena Williams who's unmatched work ethic and skill have taken her from the courts of Compton, California to one of the most dominant athletes of our time.

The four part series features clips of Wiiliams as she discuss her life and legacy. In a nostalgic moment a reporter asks young Serena Williams, “If you were a tennis player, who would you want to be like?” Then footage plays from Williams career, including her early days in Compton, her first U.S. Open and Grand Slam wins 1999, and her 2013 loss at the Australian Open quarterfinals.

The footage cuts back to a young Serena. “I’d like other people to be like me,” she says with confidence.

If Williams wins the U.S. Open, she will have taken all four majors this year, marking her first calendar-year Grand Slam and the first in the sport since 1988.
