Pasadena Man Charged in the Murder of the Mother of his Two Children

A Pasadena man has been charged in the murder of Lajoya McCoy who was found dead inside her vehicle this summer, KTLA5 reports.



Jose Roberto Turner faces one count of murder in connection with the killing of 31-year-old Lajoya McCoy, Turner’s ex-girlfriend and the mother of his two children.

McCoy’s body was found inside her parked car on June 16 after she had been reported missing by a family member. Prosecutors say that McCoy had been killed on June 10. Investigators discovered signs of foul play in her home.

McCoy was described by friends as a hardworking single mother of two children who owned a clothing boutique.

Turner who was arrested last Thursday could receive a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in state prison if convicted.
