Tessa Thompson to Play Female Lead in Upcoming 'Thor' Sequel

Tessa Thompson will enter the Marvel universe to join the cast of Thor: Ragnarok, according to Deadline.

According to Deadline, "Thompson’s character in Thor: Ragnarok will be a kind of superhero and will appear in other Marvel films as well." She will play Chris Hemsworth's love interest in the third installment of the series.

The film is scheduled for release November 3, 2017.

Deadline claims the third Thor movie begins filming in July, while THR says it starts in June.

Thompson starred most recently in the award-winning Creed.
