This has been very good week on Sesame Street. Just a few days ago,
Janelle Monae stopped by and and now Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong'o made an appearance.

Kids should learn early the value of perseverance, and Janelle Monae is trying to teach the lesson in her latest appearance on Sesame Street. In "Power of Yet." she sings and dances about why failing means you've got to dust yourself off and try again.

Sesame Street has long been progressive on promoting positive images of black and brown kids. Sesame Street released a new song featuring the little Black girl puppet from the much talked about "
I Love My Hair" skit from a few years back.
In the song, the cast members explain why they love their skin.

40 years ago, the 4th season of Sesame Street aired a clip featuring a little, Black girl who was sent to the store to retrieve three important items for her mother. The original version of "I Can Remember" aired for years, but now there's an update for younger generations.

Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong'o is a worldwide woman, and she used her perfect Spanish on a recent episode of the Spanish-language kid's show Plaza Sésamo (Sesame Street).
In case you're not fluent, here's what she said:
“Hello, I’m Lupita. Today I want us to celebrate smile day. Do you know how to laugh? Why don’t we laugh together? Ready, 1, 2, 3!”
