These Kids Have A Special Message For Stacey Dash On Canceling Black History Month

Because Of Them We Can is a creative organization that features black kids dressed up as black icons 365 days a year (See For Harriet Costume Contest). The founder of BOTWC, Eunique Jones Gibson, created the initiative as an avenue to celebrate Black History all year long. By doing this Gibson hopes to encourage young girls and boys to become like the black heroes they’ve learned to love. So it came as no surprise when some of these future icons responded to Stacey Dash about her wanting to cancel Black History Month and channels like BET.

Gabrielle Union Had All the Shade for Stacey Dash's Ridiculous Comments on Discrimination

Gabrielle Union appears in the soon-to-be hit film The Birth of a Nation which premiered in Sundance this week. On the red carpet at the film's premiere, Union was asked about Stacey Dash's comments on discrimination on Fox News.

Union calmly and carefully eviscerated Stacey with her explanation of why creating your own is so important. "If you don't see yourself reflected in mainstream awards, you tend to create your own," she told the reporter.
This is an ongoing process Union notes. "The more that we focus on inclusion and a true representation of this country, the less that crazy lady will have to say."
