Maybe the trick to a great Lifetime Biopic is to have Angela Bassett at the forefront of it. By the sneak peeks that we've been allowed to see, it seems that the great actress has kept her word, and this movie will be a good one.
Angela Bassett's Whitney Houston biopic for Lifetime is moving forward despite the family's objections. YaYa Dacosta stars as Whitney in her prime and Entertainment Tonight caught up Bassett, Dacosta, and Deborah Cox, who will provide cover vocals for all of Whitney's classic songs for the film, on the film's set.
Controversy has swirled around the film since it was announced but YaYa says she's avoiding the outside commentary, “I kind of shut off all social media because I didn’t want to be distracted by the, you know, the expectations, you know the naysayers.”
