Aaron Dunigan was returning home from prom when the car he was riding in crashed into a truck, in what turned out to be a fatal collision, NBC Chicago reported. The high school prom king was killed along with the truck driver. Another student in the car, Mike Crowter, was injured. Upon graduating from Illinois’ Thornton Fractional North High School the quarterback was set to play football at Southern Illinois University this fall.

The NBA Salutes MVP Kevin Durant's Mom Wanda Pratt

Kevin Durant gave a beautiful tribute to his mother, Wanda Pratt, during his speech while accepting the NBA's MVP award. The moment was an important one because too often Black mothers, single Black mothers in particular, are painted as inept and ineffective. It seems the only time we can collectively rally to celebrate a Black mother is after her child is dead.
The short commercial is beautiful, and clearly Wanda did a great job.
