A trailer for her new short film "Lemonade" debuted, and it features Beyoncé in varied New Orleans locales looking pretty angry. She's even seen smashing a New Orleans Police Department camera with a bat.
When she isn't busy acting or telling it like it is (i.e “Don't Cash Crop On My Cornrows”), 17-year-old feminist-activistAmandla Stenberg, is a budding filmmaker. She started in 2014 by directing her first short film The Yellow Wallpaper based on a gothic novel from 1892.
Now Amandla is back with another dope project that has a lot to teach us about the reality of our memories, the shackles of white patriarchy that keep us from staying woke and the aha moment we all get post teenage rebellion.

The struggles Black women face affect us in ways that go beyond the personal. Author, filmmaker and spoken word artist Astin Rocks. explores these themes of Black womanhood in a haunting piece entitled Letters from a Transient. In the short film, she includes four poems over the narrative: "naked," "message to bad boys," "t.h.o.t." and "shark week." She says of the work:
