Lauryn Hill Releases New Track "Neurotic Society (Compulsory Mix)"

It looks like this time she's really back. Ms. Lauryn Hill quietly released a new track today. Whatever you were expecting, "Neurotic Society (Compulsory Mix)" probably isn't it. Ms. Hill speed raps over an uptempo beat. Here's what she had to say about the song on her personal Tumblr.

Hello All:

Here is a link to a piece that I was ‘required’ to release immediately, by virtue of the impending legal deadline. I love being able to reach people directly, but in an ideal scenario, I would not have to rush the release of new music… but the message is still there. In light of Wednesday’s tragic loss (of former label mate Chris Kelly), I am even more pressed to YELL this to a multitude that may not understand the cost of allowing today’s unhealthy paradigms to remain unchecked!

From her commentary, Ms. Hill doesn't seem completely satisfied with the release, but the fact that the release happened is a good sign for Lauryn Hill fans who've been waiting a decade and a half for a 'Miseducation' followup.
