A video of a toddler spewing profanities was circulated by the Omaha Police Department as an example of the "thug cycle" that pervades Black communities. This week, the toddler and his 16 year-old mother, Ennisha Devers, were removed from their home by Child Protective Services.

Ennisha spoke with a local news affiliate to explain the situation that's brought so much negative attention to her child.

“That video — it wasn’t me. It was a person that came in to my house and recorded it. Everybody that thinks I’m a bad mother, I’m not. I’m a good mother to my son. I teach him a lot, and he is very smart. All that cussing that he did, he doesn’t do that. Somebody told him to do that. My son doesn’t do that. I don’t allow it.”
