The 'Feminist Enough' Video Project Captures the Complexities of a Feminist Identity

I'm often asked what it means to be a feminist in 2014. The question is posed by well-meaning men and women who don't quite see how a feminist viewpoint can be reconciled with my diverse interests and goals. While I once got defensive about what felt like an interrogation, I understand that feminism has been so narrowly represented that my questioners are simply asking me to define my own brand of feminism.

Shannon Washington's 'Feminist Enough' Project allows women the space to define what feminism means to them. It's not a single set of issues or priorities, and women of all walks can embrace it. Take a look at the a few of my favorites from the series.
