New Documentary Recounts the Incredible Lives of Ruby Dee and Ossie Davis

Muta' Ali Muhammad set out ensure that the legacies of his grandparents Ruby Dee and Ossie Davis would never be forgotten, so he sat down with grandmother and interviewed legendary figures like Alan Alda, Angela Bassett, Harry Belafonte, Danny Glover, Hill Harper, Samuel Jackson, Spike Lee, Sonia Sanchez and Dr. Cornel West to get a fuller look at their centuries of art and activism.

'Life Essentials with Ruby Dee' will premiere at Film Life’s 18th Annual American Black Film Festival on Sunday, June 22 in New York City.
