This week, a viral video depicting a white woman walking the streets of New York and enduring 100 occurrences of street harassment reignited a long debate about the need for cultural reforms on the issue.

The video depicts mostly Black and Latino men catcalling the woman who remains silent during her 10 hour walk. Dr. Brittney Cooper weighed in the debate on All In With Chris Hayes.

I'm really tired of men, particularly men of color, using racism as an excuse for sexism. The idea that because we have this myth of the black male rapist and the myth of black male criminality we can't have a real conversation about how not just white women but women of color are frequently harassed as they go about their daily lives should be part of the conversation.
