Black love is a beautiful thing, in all its various forms.

That's why we're especially loving this Valentine's Day themed video, produced by the Natural Hair Academy. It features six young couples, who discuss their relationship journeys—from when they first met, to first dates, to marriage and family. They also discuss how they choose to celebrate their love for each other on Valentine's Day.

Harmful stereotypes about marriage and family still exist within the Black community, so we appreciate how this video is busting the myths. Yes, Black women can have their happily ever after. Yes, Black love is still alive and well. Yes, Black marriages can be successful and long-lasting. And yes, real-life romance is a possibility… and is often so much more fulfilling than the cheesy, perfectionist—or troubled, melodramatic—depictions we see in TV shows and movies.
