"Some People Look Like Animals:" Raven-Symoné Defends Fired Univision Host's Comments

Last week, Univision host Rodner Figueroa was fired after he said First Lady Michelle Obama looked like Planet of the Apes.  The women of The View discussed the controversy today. And while the majority of the panel agreed that the comment was racist, actress  Raven-Symoné wasn't so sure.


Co-host Rosie Perez was passionate about Figueroa's words. She said, "I am the Latin person here at this table, and I would like to tell you that it was racist. Period. And the thing is this is a problem in our Latin community that we do not talk about—that we do not address. It is real, and it was revealed by this man's statement."


Then Raven-Symoné chimed in, "Not Michelle...but some people look like animals...I look like a bird, so can I be mad if somebody calls me Toucan Sam?"
