Must Watch: Ariana Brown Delivers Emotional and Moving Poem on Hair and Identity


Ariana Brown is an incredibly talented poet from Texas whose been wowing national audiences for years. In this video, she delivers "Invocation," an eloquent spoken word poem about hair, mixed race identity, growing up, and Blackness at the 2015 College Union Poetry Slam Invitational.



She beautifully describes the "child of the curl that stole the winds fury" and hair that "reject[s] gravity and its theorems." Check out the video below!
