Kyla Lacey Shares Some Honest Thought on Interracial Relationships in “Tiger Woods”

Kyla Lacey has been writing poetry since she was 10 years old and has performed at over 100 college and university shows around country. She shared that this poem “was written in response to a poet who was chiding black women on social media for their support of the interracial relationship between [Scandal characters] Olivia Pope and Fitz.”

The second line of Lacey’s piece goes, “No, I don’t have a problem with interracial relationships, I’ve been in them, and I would do it again, but my problem is black men who purposely turn their backs on black women and then clamor for equality.”
