Beverly Johnson Talks Forgiving Bill Cosby and Sobriety on Good Morning America

Supermodel Beverly Johnson appeared on Good Morning America to promote her new memoir "The Face That Changed It All." She discussed her 1986 encounter with Bill Cosby and her struggle with substance abuse.

Last year Johnson revealed that Bill Cosby had drugged her in 1986. When asked what she’d say to Cosby now, Johnson responded “I forgive you.”

Cosby has not been charged with a crime and Johnson says she will leave it up to the legal system to decide Cosby’s fate.

“I’m going to leave that to the justice department. And I just think that he’s a lightning rod for a much bigger conversation, and that conversation would be the rape culture in America.”

Substance abuse also had a major impact on Johnson's life. “I found sobriety in a 12-step program and I found sobriety with a spiritual path that I started to go on, and also with the strength of my daughter and my family and also just wanting to have the life that I always wanted and the life I think I deserved,” she said.

She hopes that her memoir will help people understand the complications of drugs and the dangers of substance abuse.
