The Trailer for Lifetime's Whitney Houston Biopic Looks Surprisingly Good

After that train wreck of an Aaliyah biopic, I'll admit my expectations for the upcoming 'Whitney' biopic, set to air in January, are depressingly low.

But if this trailer is any indication, Angela Bassett, the film's director, has done her best to preserve Whitney's memory with solid casting and decent production value.

YaYa DaCosta portrays Whitney and bears a striking resemblance. Still it's difficult to get over the Houston family's fervent objections, and the fact that Deborah Cox will be recreating Whitney's vocals for the soundtrack.
