Jessica Williams Hires 'Helper Whitey' To Translate Her Experience to White Folks

Last week, Jon Stewart addressed the mass shooting at Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina on "The Daily Show" and the video was shared through the internet by people of all backgrounds. This week "The Daily Show" brought in senior race correspondents Jessica Williams and Jordan Klepper to further discuss South Carolina and the Confederate flag debates.

In the segment Jessica Williams' opinions were ignored by Jordan Klepper, until Jon Stewart reiterated the exact things she said, satirizing how white audiences often ignore the perspectives of people of color but are open to receiving the same messages from white men.

Once Williams realizes that her opinion as a Black woman won’t be taken seriously, she hires her very own “Helper Whitey.”
