Less than two weeks ago, it was reported on Nichelle Nichols' official Facebook page that the pioneering actress had suffered a stroke.
Now, the 82-year-old, is doing well according to a statement on her Facebook page. She recently sat down for an exclusive interview with Entertainment Tonight to talk about her recovery.
"I'm feeling the best I've felt in a very long time" she told ET reporter Nischelle Turner. "Yeah, I am a fighter... Don’t be messing with my game. My game is my career."
Before Nichols portrayal of Nyota Uhura when Star Trek first aired in 1966, most TV roles for black actresses were limited to domestic workers.
We're happy to hear she's feeling better!
