Writer and Hurricane Katrina Survivor Jesmyn Ward Reflects on Life After the Storm

Tulane University professor Jesmyn Ward is a Hurricane Katrina survivor from the Mississippi Gulf Coast.  Her awarding winning book Salvage the Bones tells the story of the survival of a Mississippi family during the storm.

She spoke with Gwen Ifill for PBS News Hour to discuss her story of survival and the long lasting affects Katina had in her home town in Mississippi.
