Figure skating is a notoriously racially homogenous sport. Seeing a Black girl take the ice by storm is a pleasant surprise. Years ago, Starr Andrews became an internet sensation for her performance skated to Willow Smith's "Whip My Hair." Three Years later, she and her routine have matured.
With this routine, Starr placed first qualifying for the national championships where, unfortunately, she didn't place. But we'll be keeping an eye on her.
