Franchesa Ramsey Shares 5 Tips on How to Handle Racism During the Holidays

While many of us would love to experience the holidays without experiencing racism, this is not always possible—especially when you are a part of an interracial family, marriage, or have white friends.

Truth is many POC are tasked with the heavy burden of having to pick and choose when to even acknowledge their loved ones racism. In a world where we must “pick our battles,” (even when we don’t want to) remaining silent is not a fair and easy task.

Ideally, we could all easily dismiss racists from our lives, but inevitably, that would leave a lot of people friendless and no longer married. Due to the reality of racist experiences, Youtuber Franchesa Ramsey has 5 tips on how to handle holiday-dinner-table-racism.

1. Use Sarcasm

2.  Bust Out Some Statistics

3. Old Fashioned Smack Down

4. Act Like You Don’t Get

5. Just Be Honest

Watch below, tell us how you feel, and how you handle holiday racism.
