Two New Orleans Teenagers Found Dead on Interstate One Week Apart

Nineteen year-old Jasilas Wright (above right) was found dead on Interstate 10 in New Orleans when passing motorists called authorities alerting them of what they thought was a dead dog lying on the road. The news of Wright's death comes just a week after Kaylan Ward (above left), a sixteen year-old girl, was found dead on the same interstate.

A suspect was arrested in connection to Wright's death yesterday. Police say that Adam Littleton forced Wright into his vehicle with the intention of taking her to Texas where they met. While police believe Wright and Littleton were in a relationship, a friend of Wright's thinks things became abusive.
"She never told me that he put his hands on her, but I believe he did this time because she didn't want to come back with him," Damonyan Cooper told reporters.

Wright is survived by her nine-month-old son, mother, grandmother and three sisters. Detectives have concluded that evidence is not strong enough to suggest Wright's and Ward's cases are related, although there are strong similarities between the two. Police will continue investigation in hopes of bringing closure to both families.
