Darkly Comedic DRTY DIANA Webseries Explores Black Millennial Angst

DRTY DIANA is a new dark comedy webseries featuring Cassi Maddox as the show's complex and complicated lead. The series was produced by Yonas Michael, previously behind "#PrettyPeopleProblems" and Issa Rae's "Michelle Obama Diaries".

Maddox plays Nyaomi, a young millennial trying to get her life together. She's sarcastic and brooding to a fault, with the first episode opening with her narrating “It’s not that I want to kill myself, because I don’t. But if something were to happen to me, I wouldn’t be sad about it, you know?”

The show's synopsis reads:
Nyaomi (Cassi Maddox) was on the verge of something big. Then, nothing. Now, one year after moving back to her hometown and taking a job in ad sales, Nyaomi has abruptly quit her nine-to-five and barricaded herself in the lies she’s spun. Her friends think she’s started a new job, her college boyfriend-with-benefits thinks she has it all together, and her mother is too wrapped up in becoming a Bravo reality star to see the signs. Through strange and unusual measures, Nyaomi tries to make sense of her identity and the person she wants to be. Enter: Diana.
The eight part series, which premiered last month, will release new episodes every other Sunday until September.
