New Music We Love: Azealia Banks' "Broke with Expensive Taste"

Azealia Banks released her highly anticipated debut album, Broke with Expensive Taste, on Thursday... and we're loving it!


The LP blends a number of styles: 90's dance-influenced pop,  and grittier, aggressive hip-hop tracks. This sonic meshing only helps to support the vibe of the album and its title. The variety in Azealia's vocal delivery is also a triumph: on some tracks, she's a tough female rapper from Harlem (reminiscent of old school Lil Kim); on others, she captures the popular millennial rap-singing aesthetic.



All in all, we're diggin' it.
